Thousands of Mexican Freetailed Bats leaving their small cave fo feed. These bats range hundreds of miles each night to eat mosquitos and other insects before returning to the cave in the morning.

  • It's outside of Austin, that's all I can say. It's on private property and the landowner I'm sure doesn't want the location publicized. But there are lots of caves like this scattered throughout the Hill Country. I know where another one is north of New Braunfels not far from the Guadalupe. But it's a much more strenuous hike than this one is.
