From the 1971 "Emergence" album, Neil Sedaka sings of his struggles to God. Once again, I'm sure it's related to the lack of success that he enjoyed in the early 1960s. Enjoy!
I was in a large show band in the early 80s and this was one of two praise hymns that we did and I haven't heard until now. I will never forget what it felt like to sing this beautiful tune!
It is too bad this album wasnt big in the US, it is one of his best, imo, and this is my favorite song, along with Sing Me that he has written and sung! Beautiful tune here, and man, can't everyone relate to this at one time or other??
Not so early sixties, but rather starting 1964. He did allright before that. In America it's enough to have a Top 10 hit to live comfortably for some years if you're not in too much hurry to spend it!

Neil Sedaka was a victim of the Brit-Pop invasion of 1964 in America!

I always liked this song. I first heard it in the "hit" version by Dr. Music, probably never released in the US.

Can somebody please dig up a copy of the Craig Scott version?

How could Neil have enjoyed 'a lack of success?' He wouldn't have enjoyed that, would he?
Thank you.
