Youth film and animation group: 'Loco Motion' 2004-2008 Essex

Compilation of videos, animations, 'making of' footage and event films made by the youth film and animation group based in Basildon, Essex from '04 to '08.

Loco Motion has expired now, but many of the people you can see here have continued with the passion they found within this group, now studying and working with animation, theatre, photography, education and gaming. This compilation shows clips from:

During its existence, Loco Motion ran projects and workshops that have involved and influenced a large number of people across South Essex, both children and adults. Our films will remain available for viewing as evidence of the effectiveness of youth film projects, and perhaps inspire other groups to initiate similar projects.


Two Different Worlds was a short film supported by the UK Film Council's First Light Initiative.

Some other projects were conducted with the help of other organisations, including the Basildon District Arts Association, Tech Control, the Boom Room, Shape Shifters, The Smile Group, Essex County Council, Essex Youth Service, Basildon District Council, Woodlands School, Ryedene School and Bardfield School.

Til Buried, Space Evaders, War at Peace, Hancock Sweded and Forms 500 were not produced with Loco Motion.

the title of the video scared me jack i thought you'd passed away or summin for a second! then i realise you wern't born in 2004! lol at the 3 second clip of me, einstiens dreams clips borught back some memories. there are clips on one of the loco lappies arent there or is that on your login?
