@Neongrapes Funny you should say that... It's exactly what reactionary concertgoers said of Mahler a hundred years ago.
-
@Calinoma I agree, this piece is so horrible it doesn't deserve any applause.

that one person who dislikes this masterpiece has no life and no feeling for emotional fervor that Mahler presents. This is my single favorite movement of any symphony in the world. Bernstein is incredible. Let's just hope in the future that there are no more people like the one who disliked this.

@Neongrapes "Harmonically his music is devoid of any innovation."
Does this mean "innovation = quality"?

Obrigado pela postagem maravilhosa! Mais ainda pela ausência dos aplausos. Nos leva para mais perto de Deus. Isto é MALHER!!!

wow!, no mames!

I prefer his 1st, such tonalitys and daring for such a work of art. Im going to see his ninth on monday for the proms, but its still a bloody good piece of music!

@Neongrapes if you dont feel the emotion or drama in his 2th and 8th symphonies then something is wrong with you. people like his music because they like the way it sounds, if they thought it sounded bad then no one would play it. even though most disagree with you, you're entitled to your opinion
Thank you very much for the applause-free version. The last only thing I want to hear after such a performance is silence.
