Posing as an anti-business crusader, Peter Schiff found a number of DNC delegates and attendees who support explicitly outlawing profitability. We deliberately avoided speaking with the occupy protestors camping outside in tents to get a more "mainstream" Democratic perspective!

Medieval Ireland was largely Anarchic for over 1,000 years and still maintained a system of voluntary exchange, property rights, and law without state monopoly through private communities called "Tuaths."

Another example is Iceland from 930-1260, which in many ways parallels the case of Ireland.

But I agree that Stateless Capitalism has not been tried Post-Industrial revolution. We can speculate on whether or not it would work, but no one can know for sure as it has never been tried.

"Capitalism would not only exist without a state, but it would flourish. And I don't see a problem with prosperous corporations in principle as long as they attain their wealth without state privilege."

No where has that happen as capitalism has always exist with the state as if capitalism without state would be a monarch city state like somewhat like Somalia. Noam Chomsky has debunked this nonsense. Capitalism can be state power just without any democratic institution to limit itself.

A distrust of Democracy and the belief that change needs to come slowly is not at all incompatible with Classic Liberalism. Despite his title as the father of modern conservatism, many of Burke's ideas have been praised by classic liberals both now and in the 19th century.

"In fact, his main grievance was with the Mercantilistic British government for granting these privileges in the first place." Capitalism could not even exist without state period & now today merchants don't need the government as sometimes even more powerful than the state.

"We strongly disagree about Burke" He was conservative as that is fact. He consider father of modern conservatism as skeptical of democracy as he did trust the mass population.
