How to clear out a sink drain: Removing the pop up valve

You may have to remove the "pop up valve" in order to clear out your sink drain. "This" has a tendency of getting caught on the tip of the pop up valve.....so then draino would not work to clear out your sink drain. Yeah!! My first ever plumbing job is a success! I fixed what my landlord was apparently not able to. Thank you for the knowledge! Although, I must say, I was too squeamish to do it without gloves. Mine was MUCH nastier than what was pulled out in this video. THANK YOU.
