  • Thanks for posting this. I've got my Inspiron torn down now and have ordered a new A/C jack. I'll be attempting to solder the new one on and put it all back together so your video is encouraging.

  • @Brown1286 No problem, glad to see people fixing their computers vs getting charged by a big box store.

I hope everything goes alright......Just make sure to put the screws in a little cup. The first time I took apart a laptop I lost half the screws, LOL.

  • hey you know a place where i can fix the dc jack for a cheap price in ny cuz mines is loose

  • @skillymaster125 Sorry, I don't

Your best bet is to find a good computer nerd.......if you take it into bestbuy or some other big box store, they'll overcharge.

  • The light where the jack is inserted, lights up. But I think it might have over heated when I first got it, but afterwards I got a fan and it didnt over heat anymore. No drops or liquid spill. I am thinking it might be a short circuit, but do u think any other things could have happened. And if it is a short circuit due to over heating how could I fix it? Thanks

  • @curryking95100 Usually if there is some sort of short circuit on the motherboard, I'll just replace it.........You can pay a lot getting a motherboard from the manufacture, so I mostly search ebay for parts (could be a little risky).

  • I was lucky, my connector had a cable that plugged into the motherboard--no soldering required.

  • @sirmasterpimp

we are computer geeks, not nerds. but you are correct Geek S quad at best buy will rip you off with overpriced services

  • Please help

  • @curryking95100 Does the battery charge light come on when you plug in the power adapter ?

If the laptop didn't sustain any water, overheating or fall damage, 90% of the time it's the DC jack.
