I started crying at the end, when she is walking back through the classrooms where she started off. It is so sad, she is looking in the mirror, as if she is remembering how she used to be, how she used to dance, the feel of the barre in her hands, the sound of the piano, the applause, the stage, the lights, but now she is getting old, and she can never dance like that again. Truly, ballet is a lonely, joyful art.
Natasha, you brought such joy. I hope you are dancing in some sunnier place now.
