  • This moron has obviously never fired buck shot inside a home. The buckshot will go right through a wall, through both sheets of sheet rock and through a two by four.

So unless you live alone I wouldn't recommend buck shot.

BTW, the police use 'low recoil' buckshot as standard issue, which will operate in any shotgun.

  • @2204Alpha Low recoil will go through sheet rock and 2x4s genius. And all the different law enforcement agencies I've ever worked with on our range never use low recoil. Its marketed for the private sector. So smart guy what magic bullet in your fantasy world would u recommend that will put someone down and not go through sheet rock?

  • Chuckie, I enjoy your videos. I want an 870 and think it's a great home defense gun. I also feel the double O shells are great regarding take down percentages. My concern with the round, you kill the bad guy and the neighbor? At 7-10 feet, 6 shot would destroy someone and not off any of the neighbors. Just a thought. Thanks Yekiot

  • @yekiot4 No if you hit some with this its not going to come out like you see in the movies. Even if it did exit it sure as heck wont have enough left to go through a wall and still kill you neighbor. That would be a 50cal or heavier. But I have heard of people using 6 shot. I am planing on making a video soon of me shooting through walls with drywall, plywood, and siding to get a idea of what it will do. So stay tunned. Glad you like the videos!

  • my home defense choice is my mossy 7+1. with 7 in the mag tube 5 in the butt stock shell holder 2 3/4 military 00 buck. looks like we have similar set ups

  • @angelsfan26 Hey if it's not broke don't fix it. LOL

  • bird or field shot. it wont pass through you own walls with tons of force, and im sure it would stop just as easaly

  • hows a desert eagle sound for home defense. i don't have one but its my fav hand gun. and yes i know this is about a shot gun. Jesus is my home defense, i very serious to.

  • great vid

  • Good info, however I prefer #4 buck over 00 buck, myself, for home defense. Still adequate penetration to reach vitals, 27 pellets VS 9 or 12 pellets (nearly 3x the number of individual wound channels), less recoil, and less collateral risk from overpenetrating or off-target pellets. I do keep 00 buck in my side saddle as a backup, though, in case things manage to get extra hairy.

  • Personally I prefer the 870 because i've only shot this shotgun and not any other brands. I got mine for the sole purpose of deer and bird hunting. I planned on using it for home protection just never hope I have to. I have a box of Winchester pheasant loads and 9 rounds of hornandy ballistic tip slugs I would use either load for home protection I would rather use the pheasant loads though

  • i use a beretta 1201fp semi-auto with winchester pdx1 ammo and 00buck and 3in mag 00buck. i believe that works best for me in a home defense situation.

  • over penitration is less likely with 00 buck
