  • A brilliant marketing campaign on behalf of the Lutzes and their managers.....absolutely utter nonsense, but an incredible marketing campaign.

  • @rohanwotan2 The marketing campaign was done by the filmmakers (selling their movie) and the book publisher (selling their book). The Lutzes agreed to do publicity for the film in exchange for them removing scenes they felt were objectionable.

  • @FriendshipTown

So they didn't do it for money then? They did it all for free? They sat back and decided they needed managers and filmmakers so that those managers and filmmakers could make money, but not themeselves? Or is it possible they took part in the marketing campaign to gain more sales and make cash? Hmmmm.....which COULD it be?

  • @rohanwotan2 I don't know if they had a manager or not. Maybe they did to deal with contracts and stuff, I dunno. They had nothing to do with hiring filmmakers - Jay Anson sold the film rights without their knowledge. They had to speak up and say, "Wait, this is our story, you can't just do this without our permission."

Everyone wanted to make money and everyone was trying to cheat the Lutzes out of their share. A much more involved story than I can share here. Go to amityvillefaq (dot com)

  • my opinion on the amityville horror story changes every so often, i don't know whether i believe how genuine George and Kathy Lutz are about this whole thing or if they're just in it for the money. although the family do seem extremely haunted and traumatised by the paranormal activity that they claim has taken place, who knows? maybe they're selfish low lifes willing to do anything for the money.. this story facinates me soo much and i think i will continue research on this particular event.

  • @XxMea1xX The story changes because different people are telling it. It's like the telephone game, with bits of info getting twisted and added. If you examine what the Lutzes said directly (during interviews) their story is remarkably consistent.

Ummm.....even if her neck was swollen, that is not evidence of a supernatural occurrence. No supernatural event has ever been proven to have occurred. You cannot "fix" or "cure" something that cannot be demonstrated to exist, however you CAN dupe people into believing you have. This is why charlatans have made a financial killing for years.

  • @rohanwotan2 IMPORTANT...The psychic who visited the house in 77(even the police solve cases using psychics)Ethel Jhonson Meyers brought peace to the Bank Street House in 1957,according to her she spoke with the lady disturbing the family peace...She talked with the indian at Amityville in 77,20 years later, journalists said her neck got big as an apple while in trance,SO,IT IS CLEAR,THIS WAS REAL AND SHE BROUGHT PEACE,that is why after any family experienced nothing there.

  • MAYBE A RELIGIOUS SACRIFICE was the reason for the killing of the family, the Defeos....One prosecutor said on defeo´s trial that he think more than one people were involved, several guns were used and some bodies were not on their original death positions.

WELL,i may be tripping, but that is a rich area and there are other Bohemian Groves out there, search about the mock sacrifices at Bohemian Grove.

Defeo could be on drugs, maybe to be was a part,he said a lady with a black hood gave him the gun

  • @rohanwotan2 Two more things:

About the defeo´s murder:Nobody woke up with those LOUD gun shots...those shots are loud,i mean the family, some suspect this had another person involvement and they wer without drugs on their bodies

The lutzes sold the house for 55.000 before any supposed "marketing" campaign, that is nothing for a house much smaller than that, would they go blind without nothing to start one?Would you? Were they psychic?

    Anyway,i rather to be open

  • @rohanwotan2 I read more now and it is in fact srange that any family after them experienced something, not a thing, but, yes could be a hoax OR maybe the "death energy"of the house was too fresh when they arrived,or the phycic who visited the house,a lady back then, really took the so called "angry indian who made defeo kill his family"away from there...anyway,only supposing, because,THINK,they sold it for 55.000,NOTHING and before any "marketing"AND and they didn´t got money with thefilm

  • @rohanwotan2 Proofs?Or is it another ideological suspicion?

  • Of course Steiger and Brando will always be linked, but he sure looks like he's channeling Brando here.

  • Rod Steiger was amazing as Father Delaney in the movie!
