Here's the other one of my oldest passes, the Oliver Pass. In fact, it's the oldest one of mine. There was a long while when I used only Oliver and Holly. I feel that the opponents, as a whole, have been getting tougher with time, and these older teams just can't keep up. It doesn't mean I'll retire them; it just means I'll be having uphill battles with these. Well, more uphill than usual anyway.

For this battle, what messed me up was that I wanted to have Ambipom out when Yanmega got started. I correctly predicted that Yanmega would come out first--the game plan is to use Substitute while Yanmega uses Protect, then cut it down with one or two Aerial Aces. Yanmega learns no Fighting moves so it can't do super-effective moves against Ambipom. Switching to Rotom completely threw me off, and I wasn't able to properly do anything after that. I knocked out Rotom with Infernape, but a Yanmega merely has to hang around for one turn before it can outrun almost everything. (Assuming a Yanmega with a Speed Nature, 31 IVs in Speed, and 252 EVs in Speed, only Ninjask and Deoxys can continue to outrun Yanmega after the first turn.)

By the way, if you want to view the full picture of Camille I had for October, it's now available:

I used Ambipom, Infernape, and Tangrowth. My opponent used Yanmega and Rotom.

  • Why did infernape lose health after it used Flamethrower?

  • @waterflowing2 That's the effect of the Life Orb.

  • grass knot on infernape and aerial ace on ambipom...haha wow crap choice of moves there.

  • @faithfulmonkey Why's that?

  • @Overhazard simple these moves dont get STAB from them and some natural moves they learn cant help against type weaknesses as ive figured out a long time ago.

  • @faithfulmonkey They actually work quite well on these guys. You must not be using those moves properly.

  • @Overhazard actually, i take that back it's a good move for him to have.

  • @muffinboy101010 Grass is not very effective against Steel. There are plenty of heavy Water- and Ground-types who are knocked out in one hit by the move.

  • @muffinboy101010 It looks to be more effective than what I had previously on her, which was Hidden Power Dragon.

  • yea i took one look at ur tangrowths moves against yanmega and was like oh dear.... Out of curiosity, do you have a raichu? ^-^ I have a great physical one with volt tackle, dig, endure, and reversal :D

  • @faithfulmonkey Just because a move doesn't have the STAB effect doesn't mean it is ineffective. being able to bring multiple moves to the table to maximize different situations is a better option. Now using the proper stat for the move such as a physical move that uses a proper type for a Pokemon of a high attack stat is what you need to watch out for.

  • @faithfulmonkey you are stupid XD
