Last Train Home ~ Old Time Fiddle Tune

Nothing like an early summer drizzle.

Last Train Home is the title of a fiddle tune that goes back to Floyd Blankenship, long before Pat Metheny was able to play and the Lostprophets were able to prophesy. I first heard it played by Noel Scott (from way down there in the Ozark-Taney Counties area of Missouri) on Vol. 3 of the Traditional Music of the Ozarks cd (Rounder). For my money, Noel Scott steals the show on that cd.

I don't play it quite like Scott. Key of Dmaj.

Hi Again, it's been a while. Little hard getting around that tune (never heard it before), but your fiddling is consistent, genuine and stylistic. Good to hear that a (iupper) Michigan fiddle style is evolving ! I'd like to hear you play some Melvin Wine tunes ! Thanks for posting.
