For those of you who haven't seen my previous versions of this, this short tutorial was created to answer questions about using ScanGear software that comes with Canon scanners to scan "odd size" -- mostly older slides and negatives.
Okay -- third time the charm? Adjusted the audio (yay!) and used DivX codec to encode, which means a much smaller file... Let's see how clear this is now... Sorry for the confusion.

Very helpful, thank you! Saved me a lot of time having to look up how to do this another way!

Doesn't including the entire slide mess with the scanner's exposure of the slide? Why not crop the photos straight in scangear and get a better exposed slide?

thank you.... and for those like me that, try as we might to focus on the details, sometimes need additional information.... I am embarrassed to say, I could not get slides to scan because I did not take off the "protective page" inside the scanner... but your visual-step-by-step instructions did help me immensely!
