The telegraph is German origin
-
@Roadkill1968 Well the engine telegraph surely is of German origin, maybe it was not the original one.
-
not sure about the film but the ships a classic.
-
@Roadkill1968 I was going by the engine room telegraph being in German. Still a lovely old ship though.

For Martha-fans, så er Børsen i Svendborg varmt at anbefale. Søg på "børsenbar - martha" på Google - så er der link til deres hjemmeside :-) De har nogle af de originale rekvisitter fra filmen stående...

I would say that old scow is German in origin.

No - she´s build in Denmark: Year of build 1927 at B&W (Burmeister & Wain Shipswharf in Copenhagen) for Steamship Co. Torm Copenhagen and the vessel got the name: S/S Aslaug

Does anybody know what has happened to the ship in the meantime? I am afraid she did not end up in a museum but at a breaker's yard.

The steamer got broken up right after the end of the capture of the film - as you suspected. Actually the film is shot on the steamer as she was on her way to be broken up - so what you see in the film are the last "breaths" of the steamers life - the vessel seen in ballastmode and stripped for everything of value prior to the "execution". Sad it is - indeed.

Hey - you can find the movie at (webaddress) dvdcity (.dk) -- I am not allowed to write the webaddress, that´s why I broke it up, but you just have to write dvdcity and .dk right after each other, when you search the web.
In the shops seachfield - enter "Martha" (without the quotationmarks) and it will find the movie for you. The movie is in danish, but has got english subtext.
I often use the e-shop, as they serve their customers quickly and are reliable.
