Fun Fact: This sequence was a spur of the moment thing during filming of the movie. This was a real parade and Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones and a camera man just went in it. You can hear at 01:36 and 01:37 some men calling out Tommy Lee Jones's name.

  • I've never caught the "Tommy! Tommyyyy! Woooo!" before! XD

  • I was watching this the other day, and I noticed Roland Burris in the parade. He is at the 1:00 mark. If you don't know who he is, he took Obama's senate seat after Obama took office as president.

  • @travisw5415 I believe it's been mentioned by the director in an interview. In any event, with the right film stock and a Steadicam it's completely possible to shoot something like this on the spur of the moment using just available light.

  • Funny, I have always heard them yelling "Tommy Tommy"...But all these years I thought they were yelling "Drummers! Drummers!" like saluting the snare drummers and the guy with the big drum

Also look at the citizens smiling at Harrison Ford when he keeps looking back. They obviously know who he is and keep looking at him and trying to keep up with him :)

  • Tommy Lee Jones deserved more than an oscar for his role

  • I always wondered what that guy at 01:36 said. Thanks for putting that up in the description.

  • How the hell did Tommy Lee Jones win the Oscar that year over Ralph Fiennes, John Malkovich and Leo for fuck sakes? Those three outshined him.

    Bullshit win, Oscars. Bullshit win.

  • @travisw5415 from IMDb

"The scene where Kimble is running through the St.Patrick's Day parade was not scripted. This was a later addition by Andrew Davis. Davis who is a native of the city, really wanted to capture the parade and was granted permission from the mayor's office to film the day of the parade. All shot with a hand held steady cam."

  • Mr. President, what are you doing, running away from the FBI. I think your wife Grace will be pissed when she hears about this. Your daughter Alice may be ashamed of you.

This is such a classic film, definitely one of my favorites.

  • In the exact same frame that Roland Burris is in at the one minute mark three persons to the right of him is Mayor Richard M Daley.

  • im pretty sure if i saw harrison ford walking next to me in a parade, i would freak out.

  • Where is your source about the parade filming 'fun fact'? Hollywood productions cannot just 'enter a parade on the spur of the moment'. These scenes take hours, if not days, to film with multiple cameras, lights and massive rigging.
