I've used GameMaker before when I was 12 or something (I'm 19 now),although I had no previous programming experience back then, I've managed to make a functional side-scrolling platform game with sound effects and so based on source files from other people, wasn't really hard but wasn't easy enough as they say for "Average user".
Anyway it's a good program that I've missed when I first switched to linux and it's nice to have something like that for linux .

I left Ubuntu after Unity broke my Ubuntu upgrade. Unity looks like a Fisher-Price dumbed down interface. I went over to Linux Mint and Puppy Linux.
