"Geodesic Sound Waves" is a visual proposition and sound pieces based on the travel and exploration
of traditional musics, or how their graphic transcription via oscilloscopes allow to interpret
the contours of their original regions, to explore the geodesy of these environments while
incorporating a notion of path and storytelling.
To developed analogies between a country and its music, its geography and its langage, one giving its color to the other,
and the other drawing the reliefs of that one, the idea was to develop sound pieces around this intimate relationship.
Indeed, when the sound is graphically-transcribed using a ripple due to an oscilloscope,
this interpretation redefines with simplicity and a striking accuracy the environment in which
this music is originated. More surprising, this "horizon line" in the sound is accompanying the movement
by giving it meaning and representation, such as a narrative empty of pictures but full of interpretations.
The imaginary landscape, previously linked to matter and which was rooted in the experience of materials,
thus leaves empty place to almost no other substance than sound.
That sensitive couple "full / empty" drives the viewer to the role of "Man imagining",
projecting on the ripple representative values.
He imagines a perfectly plastic material and is further capable of receiving the strange and
paradoxical power of empty forms.
1) Norske Ride
Norske Ride is a piece designed during the exploration by boat of the west coast of Norway
using vocals and instrumentation of Kirsten Bråten-Berg, Marilyn Mazur and Lena Willemark.
View from the boat, the coast and mountains unfold and move on several fronts,
according to various depths' s holding in the form of a long traveling.
The water and its skyline, the flowage at the approach of the continent.
Imbricate and overlap, the reliefs chase each others.
Once more, the ancestral mountain ride is repeated.
Trapped in its depth ,the navigator gets lost in a pursuit to the unattainable Valhalla.

Géodésies sonores:
"Géodésies sonores" est une proposition visuelle et sonore de pièces basées sur le voyage et l'exploration des musiques
traditionnelles,
ou comment leurs transcriptions graphiques via oscilloscopes permettent d'interpréter les reliefs de leurs régions
d'origines,
explorer la géodésie de leurs environnements tout en y incorporant une notion de cheminement et de narration.
Réaliser des analogies entre un pays et ses musiques, entre sa géographie et sa langue, l'un donnant les couleurs à l'autre,
ou l'autre dessinant les reliefs de l'un, il s 'agissait de développer des pièces sonores autours de cette intime relation.
En effet, lorsque le son est graphiquement retranscrit -suivant une ondulation dûe à un oscilloscope-
cette interprétation redessine avec une simplicité éclatante de précision l'environnement dont cette musique émane.
Plus étrange encore, cette "ligne d'horizon" en mouvement accompagne le son en lui conférant un sens et une représentation,
narration vide d'images mais pleine d'interprétations.
L'imaginaire d'un paysage, auparavant lié à la matière et qui s'enracinait dans l'expérience des matériaux, laisse dès lors
place au vide
n'ayant aucune autre consistance que celle du son.
Ce couple imaginaire « plein-vide » prête au spectateur le rôle d' « Homme imaginant », projetant sur l'ondulation ses
valeurs représentatives.
Il imagine une matière idéalement plastique et continue, susceptible de recevoir l'étrange et paradoxale puissance des formes
vides.
1) Norske Ride
est une pièce réalisée lors de l'exploration en bateau de la côte Ouest de la Norvège.
Vue depuis le large, les paysages se dévoilent et s' organisent sous forme d' un long traveling.
L' eau et sa ligne d' horizon, les remous à l' approche du continent.
Les reliefs se chassent, s'imbriquent et se superposent.
La chevauchée ancestrale des montagnes se réitère une fois de plus pour le navigateur qui de sa vue les embrasse et se perd,
en quête de l'inaccessible Valhalla.
