Tony Lane absolutely did write this song, and he wrote it all by himself, too. Just to be sure I checked my facts, and it's listed in on the Harry Fox Agency website songfile (the agency that oversees nearly all of the licensing for songs) and he is listed as the sole writer. Trace Adkins recorded it.
