In case you want a tutorial how I modeled this, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93pI5jfWeFA

Like I've said in the past: "It WILL be used for Ravage!" and here it is! : http://Evayr.com/images/AK47Ravage.jpg

Due to many requests and likes on my previous video, 'Modeling the Famas' I've decided to film once more but then with the AK47 :)

It took me 1.5 hours to model this. I tried to texture it but it failed. I will fix that for sure.

Used programs:
- Hypercam for filming
- 3DS Max for modeling
- Firefox for googling

It WILL be used for Ravage! Maybe not in the release but in an update.

Likes, subs and comments are appreciated! :)

  • 2:50 how did you made that hole?

  • @mrtepaliukas U usually use inset on the end of the cylinder, then extrude it to the inside.

But here the cylinder was a *beep* so I deleted the top and back poly and used the Shell modifier, which worked too as you can see :)

  • Hey Evayr, De 2e link doet het niet meer ;)

    Fking vet wapen man! :D

  • @jos4youall Thanks, link is gefixed :)

  • Not bad, but the model lacks detail and you have some bad habits with edge loops, right at the beginning when you made the back of the AK your control loops were not lining up eith eachother and you were leaving vertices floating, this will cause smoothing problems for you but you seemed to skip that.

  • @Livewire1234 Good eye. And yes, you're totally right on that ;) Fortunately I was able to re-do that parts later and managed to fix it :)

  • @LosKurto Heya, good to see you already know what you want to do in the future :)

In my video you'll learn a lot about "how can I model in this situation?". After you're done modeling I'll also be showing some nice basic techniques how to UV map the model and make a texture for it.

It surely will be helpful :) I'm also sure if you watch multiple videos like those you'll get the hang of techniques like which is better at a certain point/situation.

    Good luck modeling! ;)
