Great workout using a deck squat and spinal rock. I worked my way up to 100 non-stop reps in about 2 and a half weeks following the density cycle posted by CST Coaches Ryan Murdoch and Adam Steer over at bodyweightcoach.com. I decided to do this while resting my shoulder while injured. This was a perfect way to get some training in without putting any stress on my shoulders.

  • Nice job rockin' the spinal rock deck squat.

Note to newbies--don't train this without building up to it. Train the spinal rock itself first to make sure you have the movement down. It's easy to over roll the neck if your form deteriorates, hence the upward hip movement which takes the momentum out of the roll. I was practicing these with too much bravado recently and mildly injured my neck.
