I suppose that Church is inactive now, being that the day is done wheres the Welsh landscape is being deforested to heat a place like that. It looked as if painted boards were installed where stained glass windows once were.

There was also a Blenheim bomber that crashed near the devils heap of stones during World War 2 on the 22nd September 1940. If you google ww2 plane crash Talywain youll find more

I live in Garndiffaith. When I was younger, my Father always used to tell me that the legend behind the devils heap of stones was that a giant lived on a nearby mountain close to "The British". He grabbed handfulls of rock and hurled them over Talywain and Garndiffaith to where the devil lived on a mountain on the opposite side of the valley, burying him under the devils heap of stones forever.

There are actually two large landslides and one smaller landslide on The British mountain named locally as "The slips". which according to legend is where the giant tore the rocks from.
Nice myth I'm sure you'll agree.

I know the slips! Used to live quite near. I hadn't heard the giant myth, mind - it's a good one! The one I heard was from a book of local legends and ghost stories.

At 1:18 there is a wire or something attached to the parapet wall. What is it? And what is a folly (in the architectual sense) in the first place?
As you first walked up to it, did you have the urge to bust out singing, "Hello, Folly!"? Come on, you did, didn't you? I know you. Admit it.

A folly is by definition a building that is just there to look interesting. Aesthetically pleasing but not useful in a practical way - a sort of giant outdoor art installation. I think the wire might be attached to floodlights so they can light it up for special events.
