This creature was evolved using 3DVCE. It jumps well but has no consistent direction.

This creature was evolved on the PC of Daniel Bienvenu.

  • Wow! They jump very high... and it was not in the formula for the best fitness.

I always watched the simulations from above during the evolution process, never from the side, it's to see how far they go rather than what they are doing to go that far.

  • Eventually I'll make the camera smarter so it will stay near the creature and follow it around (it can do that now, but not very well). Right now watching from above, like you do, is the only decent way to keep the creature on-screen at all times.

  • LOL looks like we found ourselves a winner.

  • Yeah!

  • Good idea!

Or how about way up high on a platform - the goal could be to push the opponent over the edge, like some kind of high-stakes creature sumo.

  • Stage it in the Coliseum!

  • Good idea :)

I've been thinking about adding some kind of one-on-one competition between pairs of creatures.

  • You will have to arrange an Olympics for evolved virtual creatures.

It would be an extemely interesting competition.

  • If it could move like that and maintain a constant direction at the same time it would really excel.

  • This one and the previous red one are very similar, yes. I think this one jumps higher and travels farther.

Most videos won't have the little coloured objects at the end, but I'll do that now and then to keep you guessing ;)

  • My bad, the evolution process had a first part where only the best jumping creatures continue the evolution.
