God isn't going to condemn Christians for resting/worshiping on the wrong day. The Mark is the acceptance of an Antichrist religion which denies Christ's Divinity, Death & Resurrection. That religion is Islam.

This would make sense because if things come to a point where you have to swear by oath to follow the governments laws, and perhaps get something like a chip. This would mean that if you refuse to obey the laws of the government, you no longer have rights. And you cant buy anything cause all transactions will be thru RFID. But this is just my theory.
