  • Bart: Yes, but still my pagan soul still longs to roam free.

Lisa: No problem. After Dad's done with his song, we'll make a run for it.

    Homer: "Sometimes I'm down..."

Bart: Actually, I'd like to sing along with him.

  • (Lovejoy sits at a majestic pipe organ and begins playing as Homer walks to the podium and sets up his hymn)

Homer: Gulp. Ahem! (now sings surprisingly well) "Nobody knows the trouble I've seen. Nobody knows but Jesus."

(As he sings all everyone including the kids bow their heads)

Lisa: (whispering) Ironically enough, Bart. This house of worship has proven to be our sanctuary.

  • (Homer chases the kids all the way to the church, the kids run inside and luckily nobody notices their indescent sate)

    Bart: (whispering) Quick, up front.

Homer: (burts in) Where'd they go? Just wait till I catch them--

(An early Reverend Lovejoy walks over to him)

Lovejoy: Mr. Simpson! You've arrived just in time to sing for the searmon!

Homer: Uh, Reverend you don't understand. You see, my kids--

Lovejoy: Just step right up here to the podium, and I'll start the music.

    (Homer nervously obeys)
