Sam, a 6 year old Welsh Terrier from Buffalo, NY will sing to one and only one song "Love Needs A Heart." This song appeared on Valerie Carter's 1996 album: The Way It Is (Pony Canyon, produced by Mark Goldenberg and Eddie Offord). "Love Needs a Heart," was written by Valerie Carter, Jackson Browne and Lowell George (Browne performed it on his Running on Empty record).

Sam's master is a die hard Valerie Carter fan, so Sam has been exposed to every song Valerie has ever sung. This is the only song that will evoke a response from him. He always comes in and sings at the same places in the song, regardless if he's in the car, visiting or just hanging at home.
