Damian Lewis reads Josephine Hart's selection, High Wood by Philip Johnstone. The poem was written in 1918 under a pseudonym and little is known about its real author.

  • thanks so much! Could you maybe also post the BBC poetry video from Douglas Henshall ( for I cannot watch BBC videos for I´m outside UK)

  • I've just popped it up there now. It should be available in a few minutes.

  • I love Damian's voice...this guy could read the phonebook and make it sound utterly intriguing.

  • Ladies, we need to get together and clone Mr. Lewis. One for each of us. ;-)

  • @sharona1981 *dreamy sigh* I could not agree more. ive been closing my eyes and just listening to him talk for the past 10 mins :)

  • @sharona1981 I KNOW. I love it when his whispers in his American accent in "LIFE".

  • He was also in the remake of The Forsyte Saga.

  • hheee, he's the guy from band of brothers:O

  • I can't imagine this piece of writing better read or better performanced.
