@technologic21 You might say that about any vehicle developed since 1945. Mars is continually studied. This technology is interesting as a means to deliver objects from Earth on the way to Mars or other destinations. Currently, a human would not survive on Mars, and delivery of life support systems is very difficult. Successful scramjet or ramjet technology could make such delivery more feasible. There is a new Mars rover named Curiosity that is being prepped for launch. Learn more jpl.nasa .gov
