My highlight mix about one of the greatest centers of all time - Arvydas Sabonis from Lithuania. This mix shows how great he was before injuries, then he was playing in USSR team. Footage from 1986 world basketball championship in Spain. Sabonis was playing against D.Robinson(USA) and S.Vrankovic/V.Divac(Yugoslavia).

Yes, Shaq dominated the old, many-times-injured Sabonis. But that's the point of this video, to show off the mobile game, deft passing, shot-blocking and inside/outside shooting Sabonis once had. The young Sabonis would have given Shaq fits.

Man, if this guy had gotten to come over when they drafted him, those 90's Blazer teams would've won at least 2 Championships.

Damned cold war... we should have had Arvydas in his prime against Ewing and Robinson and even an old Moses Malone

We'll never know how good this guy was, which is sad, but the potential was immense. There wasn't a thing he couldn't do on the court. 7'3 with 3 point range, amazing pasing ability, could run the break, a physical specemin, and apparently he could do the robot too!!

Loved Sabonis' game. He and Bill Walton (IMO) were the best passing centers in the history of the game. Unfortunately (also like Walton) we did not get to see Sabonis at his best due to injury.
