Canon has recently released more information regarding their new fluorine coated sensor filters found in the 5Dm2 and 50D cameras. The most notable changes being the placement of the Dichroic mirror coating on the backside of the low pass filter, facing the sensor. The other highlight is the fluorine barrier coating on the exposed surface which act much like a Teflon coating. This coating is used to help repel oils, solvents, dust and mold spores.
The video also includes the approval and use of Dust-Aid sensor cleaning products on this new sensor filter.
