This is me playing "Concert Etude" for solo & Ensemble on my trumpet. I got a first division :]

and just to clear up any questions...

I am 18 years old, a senior at Fitzgerald High School. I will be attending MCC for a year, for numerous reasons, and hopefully will be in a drum and bugle corps this year :]

**EDIT!!

I went to State with Proficiency level three and got a 98!!! :D :D

***EDIT!!!!

I made it into the Michigan Youth Arts Festival this year because of this solo!!!!!

****Update

I really appreciate all the constructive criticism, but this video is from a year ago. I've learned since then, and although the advice is appreciated, it is not really necessary. If I post a brand new one though I would definitely appreciate the constructive criticism. Thanks!

  • Great Job! The Goedicke is a challenging piece. I played the piece in high school and am now in college majoring in music. Keep up the good work!

  • @TrumpetPlyr13 thank you so much :) That is very reassuring for me, actually. I appreciate it :)

  • well im a little afraid im a freshman and im playing this and none of the band directors have faith me :(

  • @avenged10425 do you need any pointers? if you have faith in yourself, you're sure to to much better.

  • Played this many years before you were born! It's a nice challenge and one you will apprecaite as work on other studies. I can apprecaite your courage in working on this:

Only suggestion/ you asked for feedback: practice it ever so slowly: it's easier to find the weak areas when we practice very very very slowly...it's difficult to play ever so slowly...after you have it where you want it, speed it a a wee bit...only a little and continue this until you have it where you want it. Best to U!

  • @dlaldlalful i think its a 5

    but idk

  • Great job! I may be playing this for Solo and Ensemble next school year. I'm a freshman. I just found out today. My director wants me to play this piece. Any pointers before I start playing?

  • what grde solo is this btw ur good

  • Do you know where I can buy the sheet music for this?

  • You did a nice job :) Congratulations! I'm thinking about doing this song for solo ensembles next year now...its really neat :D

  • 8th Grade and playing this in a week or two I'm up to about 115 bpm

  • That sounds amazing I am a baritone saxophone player from clover high school in south Carolina and I have heard some amazing trumpet players but this is ridiculous.

  • She played this at 120 bpm. Most judges I know would have gave you a 2 or 3. This piece is Allegro Molto, not Allegro. You did great.
