The video never says it was aluminum. College uses a lot of ceramic or part ceramic bats. Some even have lower halves that flex or slightly bend. Back in little league (1986) I foul tipped a ball with a check swing in a batting cage The ceramic bat I was using broke in half. Coach was pissed. It was pretty expensive. Most of the major bat manufacturers have products that are composite and or lanxide.

I used to break aluminum bats over peoples heads all the time back in my mob days.
