not really with tunes like Sí Bheag though, which were written not passed down orally like most traditional music. good point nonetheless

Traditional tunes are best learned by ear, not by sheet music =) Learning them by ear helps you get the right feel for it =)

very nice. you have the same wild, tribal and poetic style that i have. did you take lessons? i can't even read music; i just picked up the Irish whistle when i was a lad and never looked back. Si bheag si mhor was one of the first songs i taught myself

you slide your finger off, so as to play the accidentals, or sharps, in between.
