Lovely set of videos.. .. . .
As always though, it is explained in terms of if you learn this movement, this happens. Clearly the dancer who made this video understands that it is all about communicating lead and follow, but is that is not communcated in the video.
It would be nice to see someone do the same set of video's with a absolute beginner.
'She knows to step on this foot and move in this way because I did this. . . . . .

Part 3.
My prior posts assume a led cross; there is a Tango "convention" that, when the lead is walking on the outside of the right foot of the follower, the follower can step back with the right foot only once before crossing.
At my dance school where this "convention" is taught, I danced with someone who, when I crossed in response to this "convention", kept walking and I fell onto him;. I thought I had "space" . Even if I was "wrong" to cross, he should have noticed.

Part 2.
Not all leads use all 3 -SHOULDERS, SPACE & PAUSE- but this is clearest.
The "older" style of leading used the hands on the back of the follower to push upward and to alternate pressure with the heel of the palm and the fingers. I have danced with leads who use this method and find it very clear if done properly but it seems to have lost favor ... at least in the classes I have been to.
I have experienced all combinations of the above.
Hope this is helpful.

As a follower, this is what I see:
SHOULDERS a) lead twists upper body while walking outside her right so chest still faces chest; she matches; they both straighten as she crosses; b) lead "opens" (pulls back) left shoulder which invites her to her right; she needs to cross to return in front of him IF INVITED;
SPACE lead hesitates forward step with right which signals he is giving her space to cross;
PAUSE lead collects feet & pauses which signals he is waiting for her to cross.

This video is primarily focused on foot steps but foot steps alone won't cause the woman's feet crossed I wish the video also showed their upper bodies and explain the mechanics.

I love the series and your explanation of the terms. Being able to picture the proper technique is really helping to improve my tango dancing. Thank you very much.

This place closed down but look at DTG # 16 & # 17. The mural is a tango mural at Arthur Murray dance studio in Saratoga Springs, NY.

what kind of tango is this, can it be used for argentine tango?

This is Argentine tango. Dario is Argentinian and is currently one of the most saught-after dancers in the North-Eastern U.S.A.
