Demolition of the old greenhouses at York Street started in Oct. 2008. See the old greenhouses coming down!
Gardens long-time volunteer Larry Knowles, videographer, shared this video with us that he took starting Feb. 4, 2009. The video portion shows the progress of the demolition, while the still shots show the day the project began.
The creation of publicly accessible greenhouses at York Street will promote interaction between research, horticulture and education by adding production capacity, support space and an engaging public zone. The new 15,000-square-foot Greenhouse Complex project will be complete by the end of 2010.
