First, hear me blab about how the Viper 5 sucks on toes, then listen to Metallica's 'Outlaw Torn' while I waste mutants with a Val. XD

  • I think the reload is faster since, before the release and during beta of the game, you would have ammo that you needed to attach to your belt manually before you could load/reload the gun. I've seen videos of this, and the reload animations are the same.

Or maybe he just has the Sleight of Hand perk. Either way ever reload (minus pistols) is pretty fast.

  • So magazines used to count as seperate items? A lot of FPS enthusiasts (including but not limited to my funky self) have been interested in that concept for some time now. It would be interesting to see magazines as seperate items as well as having load cartridges into them. You could buy (or find) speedloaders and/or stripper clips to make this faster.

  • Also, while the original gun models are pretty detailed, I still can't stand that they are mirrorred. The only goofs on the Abakan in vanilla and oblost is that the magazine is not crooked and the muzzle brake is from a AK-74, instead of the 8-ahaped, self cleaning, sound moderating, muzzle-brake designed by Nikonov himself for the weapon. Metal Gear Solid 4 is the only game that I played that has the AN-94 correctly depicted on every detail, even the fire cycle.

  • @IggyHazard As do I Iggy, as do I. For example, I would like to see a tac-reload system, this means that you will throw away the magazine and quickly inster a fresh one, in normal reload you detach the mag, put it back to your puch or backpack, take a fresh one and intert it in your gun, it's slowerd this way but you conserve ammo, with a tactical reload you will lose all unspent rounds in the mag, but you can retrieve it back from the floor after the fight ends.

  • That's what I've seen, at least. You could find some videos on YT showing it, just search something like "Stalker 1935" or "Stalker build 1935".

  • Technically, although Israel is supported by the US, it's not a NATO member. But still, a lot of NATO weapons find their way into the Zone via the Black Market (ex.: British surplus L-85A2). My favorite NATO rifle in the Zone is the SIG SG-550 which is Swiss. The AMD-65 uses the same magazines and ammunition (7.62x39mm) as the AK-47. It's Hungarian, is issued to vehicle crews, and has a folding stock and a foregrip.

  • But an Israelian rifle in the Zone just doesn't feel right. No AMD whatever that is :D

Making the slugs more powerful is easy (I think). You just need to play around with the weapon config files ;P

  • A Galil would be perfect for Zone conditions. So would a Bizon. Is there an AMD-65 (Hungarian tanker AK variant)? Did they improve the shotgun slugs? In vanilla, both types of slugs are waaay to0 weak compared to what slugs do in reality.

  • There's a hell load of AKs (AK/S-47/74M/74 with cobra red dot sight(!)/101 through 108)

There is a CZ-52, a Bizon, a Galil and it's sniper variant and much more.

I so wish I had my good computer :(
