Sebastien Loeb leads the Monte Carlo Rally After the end of day 1. The lead was possible after Finnish driver Jari-Matti Latvala crashed his car on stage 4 despite leading by 30 seconds. Tomorrow will feature six stages of the tricky rally and everything is still possible despite Loeb's big lead ahead of 2nd place driver Daniel Sordo. Latvala who was bloody fast on stage 2 took over 52 seconds from Loeb due to a very smart tyre choice upon recommendation from his new team 2003 world champion Petter Solberg. Novikov has been very impressive today and finished 5th while Hirvonen was very disappointing finishing the day 6th. The most impressive of them all would be with no doubt Sebastien Ogier who finished 4th on an S2000 car.
