"Triple Crossing" was choreographed by Robbie Kinter. The music "Bonefire Dance" is composed and performed by Rattlemouth; Danny Finney-sax, Robbie Kinter-drums, Marc S. Langelier-bass and George M. Lowe-guitar. The dancers are Eliza Diener-Brazelle, Burr Johnson and Kevin Jones. This performance was part of Starr Foster Dance Project's Choreographers Showcase at Art 6 in 2006. Video by Doug Hayes. This dance was named after and inspired by Richmond's unique stacking of three railroad tracks on one spot, possibly the only example of this in the world. Triple Crossing is just below the fall line of the James River and it's amazing rapids. This same area was home to the Powhatan tribe and was one of their capitals, known for its beauty and great fishing. Near this same spot in 1607, Christopher Newport erected a cross on a small island, becoming the first European in the region. Because ocean going vessels can navigate all the way up the James to Richmond, this same area became a center for slave trade. The area is now home to a canal, a flood wall, several pedestrian walkways and an amazing stacking of highway bridges.
