Kingston and Leslie Morse scored 66.92 and took 6th place in the Grand Prix Special at the 2008 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions held at the Oaks Blenheim in San Juan Capistrano, California on Sunday June 22nd 2008.
Leslie Morse
Born: November 25, 1961
Hometown: Beverly Hills, CA
Horse: Kingston (16-year-old Royal Dutch Warmblood Stallion; Owned by Leslie Morse and Laura Petroff)
Leslie Morse knew she'd found a lifelong love when her grandparents first took her pony rides at the age of nine. In the years since then, the Beverly Hills, CA, resident has matured into a world-class dressage competitor.
Morse had success with both horses, Tip Top and Kingston, in the early 2008 season. But with a win at the CDI-W Burbank in California and several other successful performances, Kingston qualified for the 2008 Olympic Selection Trials.
Morse had a successful year in 2007 with both Tip Top and Kingston. The year was highlighted by a Reserve Champion in Grand Prix on Tip Top at CDI-W Pebble Beach, as well as several top-place finishes. She and Tip Top went on to place 10th at the FEI World Cup in Las Vegas. Though Tip Top was Morse's primary focus in 2007, she also rode Kingston to several top five finishes.
In 2006, Morse and her horse picked up piles of accolades. Both Tip Top and Kingston were named to the United States Equestrian Federation Grand Prix A list. Tip Top was named Freestyle Champion at the 2006 CDI3 Loxahatchee; and Kingston was named Champion of the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special at the CDI2 Wellington. With Tip Top she traveled to Aachen, Germany for the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games, playing an integral role in the U.S. Team's bronze medal.
Morse had another outstanding year in 2005, highlighted by wins at the Palm Beach CDI3 and the CDI3 Wellington. She secured an admirable sixth-place finish in Las Vegas at the now Legendary 2005 FEI World Cup Dressage Final. Also in 2005, Morse was part of the bronze medal-winning U.S. Team at CDIO Aachen. In that year, Kingston was named United States Dressage Federation Freestyle Champion, with Tip Top finishing in third place.
In 2004, Morse was named an alternate for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
