  • not to show off or something,

but with the latest gta 4 patch (1.0.7.0) and the samsung spinpoint f3 1tb

i usually get 3 loading screens.

so, would you recommend spending 200 dollars or euros in an ssd,

or 50 euros on an hdd if the gta 4 loading is only 5 seconds slower?

  • @ronaldh33 SSD's give the most advantage on loading and running your operation system and applications. Running a game of an SSD will give a smaller advantage, however if you can afford it it is a good idea.

  • Ahh, the pc version has different load graphics. Do you have the game installed on thhe ssd's or storage drives?

  • Game runs from the two SSD's in raid0 on this movie.

  • does the ssd make the program run better too? im assuming that the faster read speeds will push out more content.

  • Indeed, but it only helps in loading times. Once all the data is stored in system RAM and video RAM it depends on the speed of your videocard and processor to handle all the data.

  • @ronaldh33 ive heard that alot lol

  • @sexking83 true. btw i like your username :P

  • @ronaldh33 dude i usually get 3 loading screens on my crappy hitachi drive too, its not a big deal, but it is a big deal if u keep loading gta iv in 3 screens, my hitachi certainly didn't keep loading gta iv in 3 screens

  • Are both ssd's really just sitting on the bottom of the tower case?

  • mine loads like that and i dont have an SSD...

  • @frankknopers But data is streamed constantly from the ssd to your memory, so that to will result in les hitching etc.

  • @ooFreeMan ull never have to even defrag it, and it will soon replace HDD's

  • @frankknopers You are totally right! Today I've installed the OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD. Windows 7 skips the welcome screen! That means my previous comment is dumb xD Gaming on SSD's don't make much of a difference. But starting up Windows 7 is extremely fast! Just like you've said.

  • @Daromies303 yes could be.

    ssd's are a lot better han hdd's
