The study tours of the six winners of the competition held during the workshop Old Tbilisi Identity and Spirit workshop is part of the Urban Heritage Preservation: Identity and Spirit of Old Tbilisi project carried out by the British Council in partnership with the Goethe Institute, Riksantikvaren, Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage Preservation, Georgian Arts and Culture Center "Istoriali" (GACC), and Georgian National Committee of International Council On Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS Georgia). The project is funded by the European Commision Culture programme

Six winners of a competition for the best development design (infill design) for the particular area in Betlemi Quarter were architecture, restoration and conservation students -- three from the MA programme and three undergards. Ketevan Bochoidze and Tornike Dadiani went to Germany from 17 to 25 October 2010, Ia Koroshinadze and Mamuka Kharazishvili travelled to Norway and Nikoloz Maisuradze and Ketevan Tsutskiridze had a trip to the UK (8-14 November 2010).
