Bellypalooza show of 2006. The favorite classic of Om Kalthoum. Alas, the video quality isn't good, but this is probably my favorite taped performance of mine, ever.

Music is Hayarti Albi Maak from Oriental Fantasy Vol. 100 (Egyptian Love Affair) - http://www.oriental-fantasy.com/english/start.html.

  • you dance really well.. very few on here do.. where are you from?

  • @nayef012 Born and raised in the US! Thank you for the compliment. :)

  • Absolutely BREATHTAKING performance. I've been dying to know... who has been your most influential teacher?

  • Thank you! I just wish that the video weren't so washed out - this is a digital file created from a DVD that was transferred from a video (eye roll). You can't really see my expressions all that well... but anyway. :)

Without a doubt, my most influential teacher has been Yasmin. I can't post links here, but if you do a youtube search for Serpentine, you'll find her. AWESOME dancer and teacher.

  • you can download "Windows Movie Maker" for free.. it's good for editing and making videos.. i think someone also asked you on "lessah faker" clip how to do editing.. this program can help.. let me know if you need help and good luck!!!

  • @nayef012 - Thanks! I'll see what I can do. :) I'm pretty bad at uploading footage... it takes me forever!

  • i would LOVE if you upload more videos of you dancing to om kolthoum's songs.. like alf leyla wa layla or enta el hobb or daleely ehtar or ya zalemni!!

  • Great danse

  • Actually, I know exactly what the song is about. If you look closely, you can see that I'm singing along.

There's not just one way to interpret a song. Yes, I am smiling in parts, but it's a "hurts" smile -- and I think that my movement expresses pretty darn clearly the emotion of the song.
