Also, the orchestra played beautifully, and the children's choir sang so sweetly!
I grew up with this song. and then sang it to my babies as a lullaby, so it's loaded with both meaning and memories for me.

I enjoyed this precious song very much! Enjoyed both the singers, although, while I've been a fan of Placido Domingo for YEARS, I have to say he should have enunciated more clearly. I had trouble understanding all his words, and I'm English-speaking. His beautiful tone was there though! Mr. Lotti's lovely voice was also all there, and I could understand every word. I've just 'discovered' HL, and am enjoying getting to know his work.

Hallo Lotti, jetzt hast Du endlich verstanden wo Dein idealer Gesangsplatz ist! Mitten im Kinderchor. Versuche es doch auch in einem Knabenchor. Da würdest Du auch nicht auffallen. Wenn Du allerdings ein bischen auffallen möchtest, dann geh einfach einen halben Schritt nach vorn :-)

as a child i cried every time i heard this song... I couldn't understand why he didn't have a bed if he was such a good baby- the minds of children are strange and wonderful things.
