Yes it takes pictures too. But it has not flash.

Greetings: The Camcorder is a basic budget camcorder with HD features. I am impressed with the AA battery feature, and the fixed focus feature. Also the audio is excellent on this Camcorder. The one thing that should have been included in the package was a remote control. So for a Camcorder under $150US it ain't bad. But as I mention in the video SVP Camcorders are not consider a medium to high end quality camcorder. Hope this comment helps all of you make a decision.

i've owned this camera for several years and have used it once..AND NEVER AGAIN. There's this ANNOYING buzz sound it makes during the video. I'm not sure what it is, but its terrible. And when you push the zoom in button, you can hear it in the video. absolutely terrible audio. How can you say that "the audio is excellent on this camcorder"? CUZ ITS NOT!

@traxxas35 I know you posted your comment a year ago, but I can't resist.

His is about three generations after yours, so stands a better chance of taking better video.Also, my T-120's lens just popped off after a year of use. You may want to keep an eye out for that.

I though something was wrong with the batteries but this really only lasts 30 minutes to an hour .SOrt of offputing if you want to play around for awhile

HELP...my test vid is all "Pixely"...when i view on the cam it is fine...i downloaded the software it came with..arcsoft? whats the problem?

Any more video of the SVP-T400 ? The video seems to cut out just as you get it fired up. Is it still an ok toy camera to have ? (thinking about getting one for my daughter to play with).

Rob Excellent review. 5 out of 5 here. sad to see no flash, and those two led are just a flash light as on the Action as well, and the lcd brightness you can also do in theaction HD. Love the idea of AA battery systems, the jazz depending on the model will ahve a led soft flash not good. again a great review, just becareful noto fingerprint thescreens
