I've got diabetes type one too! I am 13 years old but I still use my life like everyone else! Maybe it does diabetes users good, because you got to exercise and eat healthy!

I'm sorry about your son and your loss...

@daddyofsmack you do not get type 1 diabetes from being a "fat slob" , being overweight or eating sugary foods. That is a common myth that people believe with is FALSE!

i was reading some of the comments and most of them are really sweet and heartfelt, but some of them, i mean what are u thinking people? type one diabetes is a serious illness, saying it's not or calling people with it lazy or fat is rude and the people who did/do this are ignorant and idiotic, it surprises me to read the comments people think are funny to post

i have diabetes:
i play lots of sports so im constantly checking my BG! my mum and dad help me manage the hard parts though im 14 im more independent now.
-
@ZakFrost if you had a brain, you would know that getting fat has nothing to do with diabetes at all.
-
so how do you treat yours? with injection? tablet? I've had some blood tests to check if im diabetic, hopefully i am.. because then i can feel better so later im going to find out.. I drink plenty of orange and coke but it doesnt last long :( thanks for this video

@LinetteTheBest I agree thats why there are such things called DIABETES1 and DIABETES2..2 generally is for the overweight - who get it later in life. Type1 has nothing to do with diet or overweight..

i have type one and at first i thought it sucked and there was nothing good happening because of it. now i look back and remember how messed up i could have been if i hadn't gotten it. im 15 so i was kinda thinkin about drinking and smoking and that kind of stuff. i was also depressed and wasn't ever happy but for some reason after i got it i started feeling better about my life. i dont know if it is just because it gave me something to do or what it was but whatever it is i am happy it happened

Was your diabetes inherited? Unfortunately I have stereotyped Diabetes to be a disease for obese people only, but clearly you are in "good shape."

My diabetes wasn't inherited. I'm the only one in my family with type 1 diabetes. It is an autoimmune disease that has nothing to do with my weight or lifestyle. There is a stereotype, but hopefully people will become more educated about the differences and will keep asking questions. Thanks for yours!

I have been a type 1 diabetic for 22 years, and I take insulin. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease, not a result of eating too much sugar or being lazy.
This just a small bit of a day with diabetes. I test my blood sugar from 10 - 15 times per day, and also wear a continuous glucose monitor. Diabetes is a very management intensive disease. This video was a light-hearted way to show that diabetes isn't "easy" or "invisible."
Thanks for your comments!
