Are you still playing with this? Just a shot in the dark here, but if I had to guess it looks like you figured the flywheel counterweight to offset the full weight of the pushrod which the clevis pin on the cylinder end is supporting half of the weight. This is most likely why it lopes like that. Great concept tho, I've been looking for an internal combustion engine to convert but hydraulic cylinders almost make more sense for steam

how much torque do u think it has??? Looks reealy good it seems as it would be able to good work =3-

Nice engine, very nice. I hit this up as a favorite about a year or so ago I think. I've been wanting to make one this size ever since I saw your video. Just got ahold of some cheap hydraulic cylinders today. Thanks for the video! Once again, nice engine!

whats the stroke? 16"?

Very nice. I've been wanting to make one myself, not a small one to put on my desk but one big enough to do some work. What I'm wondering is, how strong is that thing? Could you stop it if you grabbed onto the flywheel?

Nice Engine!
But flywheel it's too small. Try to build biggest (heaviest).
Good Luck :)

Impressive!
I have been toying with the idea of creating a steam engine with minimal machine work.
That looks like you used a Festo pneumatic cylinder. if it is, is the piston plasic? or did you change it? How does it hold up to heat?

The piston is aluminum and had plastic and rubber o-rings. I changed the o-rings out for some rings that I found from a small compressor that fit pretty tight in the o-ring grove. Not perfect but good enough for a simple steam engine.
