  • These are great little cook pots and are very lightweight....I found at the Goodwill store a light weight stainless steel cup mug with handle, I paid $1.49 for the mug and it measures 4 inches in diameter and 3 3/4 inches tall that will hold 20 ounces of water, for a lid I used the aluminum bottom off a Planters Cashew can and Para cord for a lid handle it works great... total weight 3 ounces. I tried the Heiny Pot Kit for a while but, I did not like it because of no handle but is very light.

  • good!

  • Nice video !

I'm still searching for a pot wich has all the advantages of the msr titan but with a solution for hanging it above a campfire.

  • You were so right on... Many good choices... Lots of good points, good and bad.

  • i agree with the heiny pot. also they are a pain to clean out.

  • Great review.

Was wondering how tight fitting the lid is on the MSR. Whenever I cook I tend to look into the pot alot or add ingredients. So I wouldn't want the lid to be so tight as to have to yank on it hard to take it off. So if you had it filled with water and you took off the lid will the water splash out.

Also does it have measuring lines?

  • 'fraid not. The 700 is the same diameter as a Nalgene, so it can slip onto it.

The stainless lid is on of the reasons why I didn't go for it. But instead got the Vargo Ti Mug, same capacity and diameter. Just has a Ti lid.

But I do wish the Vargo has measuring lines.

  • handy review, thanks
