hydroplaning can only really happen with rubber tires. A train is so heavy that i don't think it would even float in a lake(not sure if someone has ever tried to test it so yea). the flange(inside part of the wheel) keeps the train on the tracks with no chance of it coming off easily.

that wasn't on the Leeds to Skipton line between Leeds and shipley was it? i catch that train all the time and have see the water come right up to the tops of the wheels when it floods.
