I'm posting this for jane who says: "The images and text I have presented are from the book "Jazz Age Beauties: The Lost Collection of Ziegfeld Photographer Alfred Cheney Johnston" by Robert Hudovernik, my friend and mentor, used here with his kind permission. Set to an original vintage Broadway recording of "A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody" sung by John Steel in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1919. The only text I've added is costume info for Louise Brooks, Doris Eaton's birthday, and that Helen Brown became Helen Hayes. This video celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Ziegfeld Follies: 1907-2007. For more info visit: http://www.alfredcheneyjohnston.com/"
This record was a #1 hit in the fall of 1919 as Victor 18588. John Steel had a dozen other hits between 1919 and 1924 and died at 71 in 1971. His other #1 hit, by the way, was "The Love Nest" (Victor 18676) in 1920. An instrumental version of "The Love Nest" later became the theme song of George Burns & Gracie Allen.

Lovely. The text and the period music add to it.
