Years ago I noticed that the top drawer section of this toolbox would perfectly fit standard rackmount gear. Then a few months ago I also realized that the bottom sections would be perfect for speakers. So after scavenging speakers etc from an old cab I had, and building a full wooden cab INSIDE this one, here's the result.
The top section with the amp is removeable and the two drawers open, to store cables, etc, and the top lid opens for more storage.
NO, it does NOT vibrate like crazy. I put rubber and felt between the wood and the metal sides.
It's just a one-off custom for now, but if there's serious interest out there for something like this....drop me a line.
(My tools were mostly laying around other places anyway, so it wasnt a big deal to lose the storage.)

  • what is it ? Is it a stereo amplifier ?

  • @fredyshred ...the rack mounted piece is a Nady Stereo Power amp, but anything could go there. I have a Tech21 Sansamp Programable Bass DI pedal that I use as a preamp, then I run that into this power amp.

But again, anything thats rackmountabe can be put in it. The top section with thw poweramp and functioning drawers is just sitting on top of the speaker cabinet section. Like a regular rack sits ontop of a regular cab.

  • @Spector2112 how many watt this amp do ?

  • @fredyshred ...well, this partiucular amp is a Nady XA-700, which puts out 750watts @ 8ohms (bridged), which is how I'm running it now, or it can do 350watts @ 4ohms per side if run in stereo.

The 4 ten inch speakers on the bottom can handle 600watts (RMS), and are wired up for an 8ohm load. The top three smaller speakers aren't even wired up yet, but I'll get to that one day.

Again, as stated in the description, I already had all the speakers and amp. I just put them in this toolbox/cabinet.

  • @Spector2112 I need this amp' for my sansamp also..How much it cost ?

  • @fredyshred ...I paid 150 for it, brand new from Guitar Center online. But that was a close out price, and it may be a discontinued model.
