I own the 500, I put it on pistol grip because it gives you more manuverability to clear rooms etc. and the kick shouldnt matter at all, if your shooting a 12 Ga for more then a few rounds its the wrong gun for the situation. great piece for the money, love mine.

yea what are you trying to prove kid. judging by your screen name 94 im guessing youre about 18. a young naive kid who thinks he can take on anybody, including a loaded shotgun capable of ending your life in less than a second. good luck.

I have a Mossberg 500 persuader that I bought many years ago and I have to say I've shot it in tactical drills and at times I've been pretty hard on it getting the barrel hot enough to cook on. It has never failed to function, it has never broken and I would carry it to Armageddon without hesitation. I hope you have had as good an experience with this weapon as I have.

good point. getting to the slide release can be hard with a pistol grip on the 500 as well. i switched mine to a hogue stock and i like the functionality a lot more now

@brandonjpj1 So you're saying that the sound of someone racking a shotgun wouldn't scare you if you just broke into a dark home? The sound of putting one in the chamber, pretty much assuring that your life is about to be over if you don't get the hell out of the house, doesn't scare you? You must have some balls on you, because I'd nearly shit myself if I was a burglar and I heard that sound.

the point of home defense isn't to "scare" the burglar. it's to stop the burglar. no matter what it takes, his life is less valuable than the life of my wife and kids. The only sound that should matter, is the sound of that round leaving your barrel. Protecting the lives of the ones you love.
